Each move is different. There are many factors to consider, such as weather conditions, the size of your shipment, the time required to load and unload your belongings, and the distance your shipment is traveling.
If you have the choice when to move, it’s best to avoid moving during summer, the end of the month, or the end-of-the-year holidays. Some factors to consider are whether the move must be made immediately, if you have to move children during the school term, or if your family will be separated during the move.
Please contact your Personal Relocation Consultant as soon as your move dates change. Your consultant will be able to process any changes to your plan and discuss updates. Please keep in mind that your estimate may change depending on the dates you selected.
To get an accurate estimate, Moving Forward will need to do a visual survey of your belongings. Our agent will determine the aproximate cost based on the amount of items you’re moving and their weight. After the free assessment you’ll receive a written estimate/order of service. Please keep in mind that these estimates are only guidelines. You must pay the total charges as determined by the actual weight of your shipment, the distance it travels, and the services you authorize or which become necessary to handle your shipment.
A binding estimate specifies in advance the cost of the move based on services requested or deemed necessary at the time of the estimate. Binding estimates are valid for the time period specified, up to 30 days.
Additional services may be requested or required at origin or the destination, increasing the total cost. Additional charged will be added to an addendum specifying these charges for your signature.

With the exception of binding estimates, the exact cost of your move cannot be determined until after your shipment has been loaded on the truck and weighed.

Basic transportation charges depend on the actual weight of your shipment and the distance they will travel. Additional charges will be added if additional services are requested or required.
Cash, traveler’s check, money order or cashier’s check can be used for payment. In addition, the American Express® Card, Discover® Card, Visa® or MasterCard® can be used to pay for interstate moves, with advance approval required prior to loading.
Yes, Moving Forward has two different protection plans. We offer comprehensive valuation protection to cover any damage or loss that took place during transit.

Moving Forward also offers, at no extra charge to our customers, basic liability protection. You’ll always be protected when you move with Moving Forward.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept responsibility for safely moving your plants. They may suffer from a lack of water and light, as well as undergoing temperature changes while in transit. Transporting your house plants in the family car or shipping them by plane may be preferable.
It’s generally good practice to keep out anything you or your family will use on the day of your move. For example, keep phone chargers, snacks, toilet paper, paper towels, toothbrush/toothpaste, and any medications or important paperwork.
  • Be sure to pack similar items in each box to make labeling easier.
  • Label each box on the top and sides, stating what contents are in the box. (eg. books, plates)
  • Label what room it belongs to so the movers know where to unload it to. (eg. if the box contains utensils, mark it kitchen.)
  • To ensure nothing gets lost during the move, number each box and keep track of that number.
